In the President’s Executive Order of “American Artificial Intelligence Initiative” in Feb. 2019, there are five key areas of emphasis. One is Setting AI Governance Standards, which states that federal agencies will foster public trust in AI systems by establishing guidance for AI development and use across different types of technology and industrial sectors. Later in November 2020, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) announced the Guidance for Regulation of Artificial Intelligence Applications, proposing ten guidelines that U.S. agencies should consider when formulating regulations on AI applications, while also taking into account AI innovation.
